On average for budgeting you're looking at around £15 per night in Bangkok for a double bedroom with average to good standards. You can find some cheaper but the quality very quickly starts dropping, until you start having sleepless nights!
Extreme budgeting, you could get away with anywhere from £7 per night upwards! This is for a mixed dormitory room with shared facilities. Great for meeting people, not great for resting after a hike
If you're paying £16 per night and upwards, it's very easy to find great to luxury stays all over Bangkok for that price. With a bit of thorough searching and savvy discount applying, you can easily get somewhere you'll be happy with! Be warned you can pay much higher rates for tired old hotels, so don't accept the first thing you see!
